Vicky and I opened The River Labor Day of 2004. We had about 20 guest, maybe. But we were determined to work hard and make The River a place everyone wanted to eat . In 2005 the Monticello-Drew County Chamber of Commerce voted us the Business of The Year for 2005. Not only was that one of the greatest honors we had ever received, it was a confidence booster. The last two years we have received The Best Dinner and Best Steak and this year Best All Around Restaurant from The Readers Choice Awards, THANKS!! to everyone that voted for us. Since that day in 2004 we have had guests from every state in the United States as well as many other countries. We appreciate all business, but there are no customers as important as our regular customers. We would like to take time to thank our regular customers and promise we will continue to serve good food with friendly service and make The River a place Southeast Arkansas can be proud of.
